13632 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Climate Change: What was budgeted for the Ministers' departments, if any, for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year and how much was spent?

Hon Simon Watts: In my capacity as the Minister for Climate Change, the total direct budget allocated to running the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP) for FY23/24 is: $993,209 I am advised the spend as of 30 April 2024 is: $827,756 The CNGP is expected to be under budget at year end. The Ministry for the Environment's (the Ministry's) corporate Sustainability and Climate Risk team is responsible for measuring, publicly reporting, setting targets, verifying and managing the Ministry's emissions. These meet the requirements of, and annual results reported to, the CNGP. The total direct budget allocated to this team for FY23/24 is: $405,358 I am advised the spend as of 30 April 2024 is: $302, 257 The Ministry’s corporate Sustainability and Climate Risk delivers a work programme broader than meeting the outcomes for the CNGP.
