13608 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: What is the total amount, if any, spent on external legal advice or law firms by any agencies under the Minister’s responsibility since 27 November 2023, broken down by firm and purpose?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that the Department of Conservation spent $2.083m from 27 November 2023 to 28 February 2025 on external legal advice or law firms, broken down by firm in the attached table. The purpose for the legal expenses is sensitive, however it does deal with advice and support related to the Conservation Act, Treaty Negotiations, the Resource Management Act and Permissions.
