13551 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: What was budgeted for the Ministers' departments, if any, for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year and how much was spent?
Hon Penny Simmonds: The breakdown for my departments is as follows:
$5,549,881 was budgeted for the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year.
As at 30 April 2024, $4,061,306 has been spent by the Ministry with $949,515 being received in extra funding applications approved by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority to support the installation of electric vehicle chargers and the leasing of electric vehicles.
Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) - $13,000 was budgeted by the Tertiary Education Commission. To date, TEC has spent $8,450 on annual membership fees and a further $4,549 on audit fees.
Education New Zealand’s budget for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in 2023/24 financial year was $15,450 and actual spend of $16,093.
