Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: Was any cost-benefit analysis undertaken by the Ministry for Primary Industries in developing its proposal to transfer meat inspection responsibilities from AsureQuality to meat processing companies, and if so, what are the dates and titles of this analysis?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I have not received cost benefit analysis in relation to this proposal. MPI is considering feedback received through consultation, including cost information provided by stakeholders, before making final decisions.
