13410 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: What plans, if any, does the Minister have to ensure that the proposed Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 reforms will benefit all New Zealanders, particularly those from vulnerable or low-income backgrounds?
Hon Andrew Bayly: The primary purpose of the CCCFA is to protect the interests of consumers. The reform process aims to fulfil this objective while removing undue compliance costs that have led to overly conservative lending behaviour.
