13406 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: What measures are in place, if any, to monitor and assess the impact of these proposed regulatory changes the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003, on both consumers and lenders over the coming months?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am currently consulting on proposed regulatory changes to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 (CCCFA) through public consultation, which includes a consumer survey to seek direct feedback from consumers. MBIE will also have more targeted engagement with consumer representatives and lenders to assess what the impacts of these proposed regulatory changes could be. That information will form part of MBIE’s regulatory impact analysis later this year.
