Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: Was any data or evidence about the impact of the proposal provided to the Minister in developing the proposal to transfer meat inspection responsibilities from AsureQuality to meat processing companies, and if so, what are the dates and titles of this information?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The proposal is an operational matter for the Ministry for Primary Industries. MPI undertook public consultation on the draft Notices and is considering all submissions, including stakeholder provided analysis and evidence, before making final decisions.
