Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence: How, if at all, will the Minister commit to rehabilitation outside of prison for perpetrators of family and sexual violence, so they also have “the support to turn [their] life around” that she states those in prison will receive?

Hon Karen Chhour: Supporting accountability and behaviour change for people who use violence is a core focus within Te Aorerekura and particularly emphasised within • Shift 5: Towards safe, accessible and integrated responses • Shift 6: Towards increased capacity for healing. I remain committed to Te Aorerekura and its shifts. The second Action Plan, which is currently under development, will act as a delivery plan for Te Aorerekura, as well as contributing to the Government Target to reduce violent crime.
