Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). DPMC leads and stewards New Zealand’s strategic crisis response arrangements, the Officials’ Committee for Domestic and External Security Coordination (the ODESC system). I am advised by officials in DPMC that a range of risks, including the potential implications of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, were considered at ODESC system meetings during the specified timeframe.
