Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Is the Minister concerned that, by not challenging Sean Plunket’s comments alleging that rainbow youth groups such as InsideOut are "basically recruiting" in schools or that these groups "cannot be objective", LGBTQ+ students may not feel like the current government has their best interests at heart?

Hon Erica Stanford: LGBTQ+ students are not homogenous, they are as diverse in their backgrounds, beliefs, values, and experiences as any other group in society. I’m sure that LGBTQ+ students, along with all other groups in society, hold a range of views about the current government. As Minister I strongly support all students being able to hold and express a diversity of views.
