13205 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: What is the total amount, if any, spent by any agencies under the Minister’s responsibility on external contractors for policy advice since 27 November 2023, broken down by agency and contractor?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) records and analyses historical expenditure information on a monthly basis, therefore my response provides expenditure from 1 December 2023, not 27 November 2023. The total spent by Customs on external contractors for policy advice between 1 December 2023 and March 2025 is $11,647.03. I am advised that Customs is unable to provide a breakdown by contractor without undertaking substantial collation and I consider that the expense of answering your question is not in the public interest. This response is inclusive of the Border Executive Board Secretariat.
