13171 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 11663 (2026), do the two individuals unaccounted for in that discrepancy currently hold valid licences, and if so, what action, if any, does NZTA intend to take in respect of them?

Hon Chris Bishop: Yes, both individuals currently hold valid licences. As outlined in my response to Written Question 8827 (2026), NZTA cancelled their licences after they failed to respond to a request for evidence supporting the validity of their overseas driver licences. Subsequently, both individuals provided the required information. One licence was confirmed as valid; the other individual was found to have provided falsified information but has since completed the process to obtain a new licence. No further action is required by NZTA in respect of either individual.
