Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Justice: What expressions of interest, if any, were issued for the Waitakere Courts public-private partnership following the New Zealand Infrastructure Investment Summit held in Auckland on 13–14 March 2025, and what is the current status of that process?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised the Justice Property Partnership (JPP) Project, which included new builds for the Rotorua High and District Court, Rotorua Māori Land Court, and Waitākere District Court, has not issued any expressions of interest, as a formal procurement process has not been initiated. The JPP Project is currently not funded, and the Ministry of Justice continues to work closely with the government to seek funding through the annual budget cycle to progress this project.
