13128 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: What is the total amount, if any, spent by any agencies under the Minister’s responsibility on external IT consultants or contractors since 27 November 2023, broken down by agency and provider?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that to maximise their impact for nature, the Department of Conservation is working to ensure that its front-line staff spend as much time conducting their vital work in the field as possible by minimising administrative demand. To do this, the Department has been investing in major projects to modernise its IT systems such as SAP, the HRIS system (new HR system), and others used by its front-line staff. I am advised that the Department of Conservation spent $20.558m from 27 November 2023 to 28 February 2025 on external IT consultants or contractors, broken down by provider in the attached table.
