13084 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: What reports, if any, has he received on consumer understanding of the Health Star Rating system?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: As the Minister for Food Safety, I have received the following two reports on consumer understanding of the Health Star Rating system: • Health Star Rating 2025 Monitoring Consumer Research Report • Health Star Rating 2024 Monitoring Consumer Research Report I have also been made aware of results from the 2025 Food Standards Australia New Zealand’s Consumer Insights Tracker survey, which includes information on New Zealand consumer understanding of the Health Star Rating system: https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/science-data/social-science/consumer-insights-tracker
