13061 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Education: What progress if any is being made in response to the Highest Needs Review and when will schools see the fruits of that progress?
Hon Erica Stanford: In April, I announced my six priorities for education. One of these priorities is targeting effective learning support interventions for students with additional needs. The purpose of this priority is to strengthen the learning support system so we can respond better to the needs of learners and their families through evidence-based approaches and targeted investment for equitable educational outcomes. Work to strengthen learning support will bring together the Government’s response to the Highest Needs Review, alongside the evidence from other reviews, inquiries, and reports. The scale of change suggested by the review findings requires significant time and investment to achieve.
