13020 (2026). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister for Māori Development: Has the Minister provided any input or advice to any Minister in relation to the India Free trade agreement to advance Maori interests, and if so, when and what was it?

Hon Tama Potaka: My Officials at Te Puni Kōkiri have successfully worked to include the most advanced Māori economic trade chapter to date, known as the 'Cultural, Trade, Traditional Knowledge and Economic Cooperation Chapter'. Alongside this chapter there are a number of articles and provisions dedicated to advancing the Māori economy, which will soon be announced. I have continued to stay across this important work and inputted through engagements with my Ministerial colleagues and in Cabinet processes.
