12966 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister agree with Moran Law special counsel Louisa Joblin that "clubs and organisations and things - our whole not-for-profit sector - is a core part of what keeps our society trucking", and if so, what advice, if any, does the Minister have for an active incorporated society who has missed the April 2026 re-registration deadline?
Cameron Brewer: Yes. Incorporated societies that wish to continue operating but have missed the deadline can apply to the Registrar of Incorporated Societies to be restored to the register. Once they have a revised constitution compliant with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, the process is straightforward. I encourage these societies to act as soon as possible to minimise disruption to their activities.
