12948 (2024). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence: How much of the $114.5 million allocated in Budget 2022 for family and sexual violence elimination over the forecast period has been spent, and how much remains unspent, broken down by initiative?
Hon Karen Chhour: Budget 2022 allocated $114.50 million over four years in initiatives across eight Votes to strengthen community approaches to eliminating family violence and sexual violence and supports the implementation of Te Aorerekura. As the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence, I am responsible for the component allocated to the Vote Justice appropriation (Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence), which was $29.753 million over four years. Of this, I am advised $8.488 million was appropriated for the 2022/23 financial year, and $7.542 million was spent. $8.165 million was appropriated for the 2023/24 financial year. The actual spend for 2023/24 is not yet know as the financial year has not yet been completed. The remaining funds have been appropriated in future financial years and as such will be spent in the financial year for which it is appropriated.
