12931 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: What further reform, if any, is the Minister considering for the Commerce Act?

Cameron Brewer: My focus is on progressing the Commerce (Promoting Competition and Other Matters) Amendment Bill and the Commerce (Commerce Commission Reform) Amendment Bill through their remaining parliamentary stages so they can be enacted. Together, these Bills will modernise New Zealand’s competition settings and strengthen the Commerce Commission’s governance.
