12922 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Further to 4165 (2026), can the Minister or his officials confirm if any more than 23,109 units of potentially asbestos laced children’s sand products have been sold and reached New Zealand households and schools since 13 February 2026; if so, how many?

Cameron Brewer: I am advised that, as at 31 March 2026, the total number of individual sand products recalled due to the presence or suspected presence of asbestos was 24,612. Not all these products are children’s toys or play products. Some of them are sold and used in the production of arts and crafts.
