12905 (2026). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister of Health: Does he stand by his answer to supplementary question in question No.11 on 12 March 2025 “yes” when asked if health care for all New Zealanders means making the life expectancy for Māori and non-Māori the same, if yes, what specific actions has the Minister taken to reduce the life expectancy gap between Māori and non Māori?
Hon Simeon Brown: Yes. Life expectancy reflects long-term population change. My responsibility is to set clear system expectations, prioritise action where need is greatest, and ensure accountability for improving outcomes over time. I refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 12913 (2026).
