12895 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister support the Salvation Army's call for Buy Now Pay Later schemes to be banned for the purchase of alcohol?

Cameron Brewer: Buy Now Pay Later loans are regulated by the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 (the CCCFA). The CCCFA does not directly control what types of products, such as alcohol, can be purchased on credit.
