12879 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Associate Minister of Health: Does the Minister plan to make changes to increase access to affirming surgery procedures for trans people; if so, what?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand has established a Gender Affirming Surgery expert advisory group to provide expert guidance, advice, and recommendations. The group is composed of multidisciplinary experts with extensive experience in transgender healthcare, surgery, mental health, and other relevant fields.
