12848 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does he believe that current legal and policy settings sufficiently protect the most vulnerable New Zealand consumers from online bank scams?

Cameron Brewer: The Government is introducing new legal protections so online service providers can act faster to block suspected online scams. This was announced in November 2025 and will be included as part of a Fair Trading Amendment Bill.
