12830 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Justice: In response to Reply 9088 (2026), what is the average cost of confiscating and/or destroying seized vehicles through Automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR)?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The average cost of seizing and selling vehicles through auction is $813.54. The Court does not have legislative authority to consider or undertake destruction of property. All vehicles accounted for in this figure have been sold at auction.
