12820 (2026). Oriini Kaipara to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What monitoring, if any, does the Ministry of Social Development undertake on changes in demand for food bank services, and how frequently, if any, is this information collected?

Hon Louise Upston: Community food providers deliver the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) monthly quantitative reports on the output of their services and also provide six-monthly narrative reports. MSD uses the reports to understand emerging trends.
