12814 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister for Tertiary Education: How many funding applications for teacher education programmes did the TEC receive for the 2025 Investment Round and how many applications were approved in full?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Teacher education programmes include Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Secondary Initial Teacher Education. I have been informed by the TEC that thirteen providers who had previously delivered Secondary Initial Teacher Education applied to deliver Secondary Initial Teacher Education. These applications were approved in full. Additionally, one new provider applications for Secondary Initial Teacher Education programme for the 2025 Investment Round was received. The application was approved in full.
