12796 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 , on providing "outcome and equity measures in our four priority areas where we are driving whole of system improvement. These areas are Kahu Taurima | Maternity and the early years; Mate pukupuku | People with cancer; Māuiuitanga taumaha | People living with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory conditions, stroke and gout; and Oranga hinengaro | People living with mental distress, illness and addictions’ under section 5.1 ‘Performance reporting’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: Health New Zealand provide updates on progress in implementing service changes and innovation in its four priority areas through Quarterly Performance reports. You can find the published report on the Health NZ website: https://www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/publications/?start=0&publications-type=Quarterly+report
I am advised that the development of new outcome and equity measures for the four priorities areas has formed part of Health NZ's work to develop a new entity performance framework and measures.
