12760 (2026). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: Will his Government consider making more funding available so previous proposals to significantly increases frequency of bus services in Dunedin could be implemented to enable more people to avoid car trips and conserve fuel?

Hon Chris Bishop: As the Member is aware, funding for public transport services is undertaken independently through the National Land Transport Fund by the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) Board in accordance with the Government Policy on Land Transport 2027. The Government is considering a range of responses to support New Zealanders to manage the current increased cost of travel.
