12749 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: Does the Minister believe large offices and other commercial premises should disclose their energy efficiency, and if yes, will he mandate this requirement in law?

Hon Chris Penk: The Government is considering policy options to help address New Zealand’s climate change obligations in addition to the extensive work underway to make it easier and cheaper to build homes in New Zealand so we can rebuild the economy and lower the cost of living. Building costs have increased by around 41% since Covid-19 and any changes must not add unreasonable costs onto builders or homeowners.
