Hon Brooke van Velden: The Department of Internal Affairs (the Department): I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that since 27 November 2023, the total amount spent on temporary accommodation was $1.395 million. For the breakdown by purpose, I am advised that providing the Member with this information would require a substantial collation of information exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time and hence the expense of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest. Office of Film and Literature Classification (the Classification Office): Nil. Lotto New Zealand: Nil. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire and Emergency): I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand that since 27 November 2023, the total amount spent on accommodation and meals was $10,087,970. This total is unable to be broken down by purpose.
