Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What instructions, if any, has the Minister given to each of the Minister’s Departments, Ministries, and Agencies, to reduce headcount in order to achieve cost-savings since 27 November 2023 to the week of 6 May 2024 and what is the specific nature of those instructions?

Hon Simeon Brown: I have been working with the Ministry of Transport on options to deliver baseline savings consistent with the Minister of Finance’s expectations of public service agencies. The specific nature of options under consideration and associated instructions remain budget sensitive at this time.
