12643 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: What is the total amount, if any, spent on office relocations or refurbishments by any agencies under the Minister’s responsibility since 27 November 2023, broken down by agency and location?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) records and analyses historical expenditure information on a monthly basis, therefore my response provides expenditure from 1 December 2023, not 27 November 2023. For the period 1 December 2023 and March 2025, Customs spent a total of $7,801,598 on office relocations and refurbishments. This covers the relocation of the Auckland Customhouse and Customs’ operating site in Napier. I am advised that the Border Executive Board Chair and Secretariat team are hosted by Customs at the Wellington Customhouse. They have not been relocated since the Border Executive Board started on 11 January 2021.
