12642 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What is the case load for Ministry of Social Development employment case managers, provided by year since 2015, as a range and average?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that the employment case management service and caseloads have changed over this period of time and caseloads are different for different client cohorts and services within employment case management.
I am advised that between 2015 and 2020, the caseload range for an employment case manager was 80 to 217. From 2020 onward, the caseload range has been 60 to 105.
Information relating to average caseloads is not centrally recorded. Obtaining data relating to the average case load for an employment case manager for each year since 2015 would require substantial collation and engagement and divert Ministry staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
