12605 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Social Development and Employment
Written Question
Published date: 29 May 2024
12605 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: For each of the new policy initiatives in the Minister’s responsible Vote for Budget 2022, if any, how many, if any, Full Time Equivalents are currently working on these initiatives, broken down by individual initiative?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that providing a breakdown of current Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees in relation to Budget 2022 or 2023 initiatives would require the Ministry to undertake substantial manual collation and divert staff from their core duties as this information is not centrally recorded. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 185-4, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering this aspect of the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
The Ministry does publish FTE data broken down by cluster in its Annual Review, however the most recent data is as at 30 June 2023:
