Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: Does she agree with Whaikaha’s Financial Sustainability Governance Group that flexibility of funding for disability support was “…increasingly difficult to justify such expenditure publicly in the new fiscally constrained environment and the new Government direction signaled”, if not, why not?

Hon Louise Upston: My priority for disability support is to put the system on a sustainable financial footing for the medium term. To do that, I have established an independent panel to review the system and provide advice to me on system settings. I am awaiting the advice of the panel before commenting further on aspects of the system.
