12530 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: Will the Government increase investment in domestic training to compensate for shortages in healthcare and teaching staff?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Government recently announced a 51 percent increase in Nurse Practitioner funded places. Supported by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, these new funded places enable 121 Nurse Practitioners to be trained across six universities in 2024. Information about future Government increase investments in domestic training will be shared at the appropriate time when available.
