12485 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Associate Minister of Immigration: For each of the new policy initiatives in the Minister’s responsible Vote for Budget 2022, if any, how many, if any, Full Time Equivalents are currently working on these initiatives, broken down by individual initiative?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment does not currently track staff numbers in this way. It’s important to note that some MBIE staff support multiple portfolios and that portfolios are also often supported by other business units and enabling functions to support their work. For their Briefings to Incoming Ministers, MBIE undertook a one-off manual exercise to calculate staff working in the operational and policy areas by portfolio.
