12420 (2026). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What are the prioritisation settings that Fire and Emergency New Zealand are working with their sector partners on, that the Minister referred to in her answer to oral question 12 on Tuesday 31 March 2026?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised Fire and Emergency New Zealand is working with emergency service partners to align prioritisation settings under the National Fuel Plan. This includes prioritising fuel use for critical emergency response and life-safety activities, maintaining frontline readiness, and supporting essential coordination functions. Agencies are also identifying opportunities to reduce non-essential travel and discretionary fuel use, while maintaining core service delivery. These settings will be adjusted as required in line with all-of-government fuel planning.
