12356 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: When, if ever, does the minister expect EECA to update their data sets using 2023 census information?

Hon Simon Watts: EECA updates its datasets on a regular basis, to best support understanding Energy use across New Zealand. A number of EECA’s datasets are scheduled to update in mid-2025. This includes public-facing datasets, such as the EV Public Charger Dashboard and the energy End Use Database, as well as those underpinning the Times NZ 2.0 Model and the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme. EECA’s internal analysis dataset, informing energy savings from regulated appliances, is already using 2023 census data.
