12332 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has Health New Zealand implemented or discussed implementing any policies whereby a vacancy can only be filled when another position is vacated at any of its hospitals, if so which hospitals?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Central Region considers each vacancy on its merits at the time it arises. It is normal business process to consider alternative options to filling the vacancy or to proceed with replacing the previous incumbent.
