12330 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many Recruitment Business Cases for Wellington Hospital have been submitted to Health New Zealand in the past six months, broken down by FTE, and how many have been approved, declined, or remain pending approval?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand is unable to disaggregate data by facility from Capital and Coast payroll system, which covers Wellington Hospital, community positions (e.g. District Nurses), Kenepuru Hospital, and Kāpiti sites. I am further advised that the Capital and Coast payroll system does not record declined recruitment business cases, as requests go through a paper approval process before being electronically progressed in the payroll system.
