12316 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Corrections: For each of the new policy initiatives in the Minister’s responsible Vote for Budget 2022, if any, how many, if any, Full Time Equivalents are currently working on these initiatives, broken down by individual initiative?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Budget 2022 Vote Corrections initiative funding related to Workforce Safety and Capability, and was phased over multiple years. I am further advised that as at 10 May 2024, the following Full Time Equivalents (FTE) have been directly funded and, for the purposes of the answer are considered to be currently contributing to these initiatives among their other responsibilities: • Establishing an effective Women's Prison Network – 25.5 FTE • Oranga focussed custodial environment – 49 FTE • Implement violence & aggression action plan – 23 FTE • Enhancing capability & training – 47 FTE • Managing persons of extreme risk – 13 FTE • Kaupapa Māori Health Service – 16 FTE • High Impact Innovation Programme – 34.9 FTE. Budget 2022 funding also included cost pressures and cross sector initiatives that are not included in this response.
