12298 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: Were principals and/or organisations representing principals consulted before the Ministry of Education issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a standardised assessment tool that schools can use twice a year with children in Years 3-10; if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that government procurement rules impact on how much information the Ministry can share before going to market. It is my expectation that they will engage with key stakeholders as this work progresses, wherever possible.
