Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: Will the standardised assessment tool that schools can use twice a year with children in Years 3-10, which the Ministry of Education has issued a request for proposals (RFP) on, be used to measure progress against the Government's Education targets; if so, how?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Government’s target of lifting achievement outcomes so that 80 percent of Year 8 students are at, or above, the expected curriculum level for their age in reading, writing and maths by December 2030 (Target 7) is currently being measured using the Curriculum Insights and Progress (CIPS) study.
