12217 (2026). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How will diesel supplies be prioritised for Fire and Emergency New Zealand in the National Fuel Plan’s phases 2, 3 and 4?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that in the Draft Fuel Response Plan 2026: Public Sector Implementation (as at 28 March 2026), Fire and Emergency undertakes a number of functions which are identified as priority fuel uses for critical, life supporting services. In line with government expectations, they will reduce fuel use where practicable and prioritise the use of fuel to support those critical services.
