12209 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Associate Minister for Energy: What measures will he put in place to ensure that East Coast’s farmers and related businesses can continue operating despite the current fuel crisis, and how will he support the regional economy against production and cost shocks?
Hon Shane Jones: New Zealand has healthy fuel stocks and fuel companies are reporting no issues with their international supply chains.
Government has put a fuel response plan in place to ensure that we keep fuel flowing to services and communities to support the regional and national economies. The Government is working with industry and key frontline services to ensure fuel availability across our regions. Existing emergency and resilience arrangements are in place to mitigate production and cost impacts and to support regional economic continuity.
