12195 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Hunting and Fishing: What advice, if any, has the Minister requested regarding the contracting out of government services?

Hon James Meager: I am advised that the Department of Conservation regularly contracts private sector entities to deliver a range of services and has done for many years, including predator control and other functions. However, I can confirm I have neither requested nor received advice from the Department of Conservation regarding a systematic transfer of services currently performed by DOC to private sector contracting arrangements.
