12194 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Agriculture: Does he have any plans to provide the agriculture sector certainty amidst concerns of substantial cost increases on freight and shipping?

Hon Todd McClay: The Government acknowledges that the sector is facing increased costs, and this puts pressure on farmers and growers. The Government's key priority right now is to ensure farmers and growers continue to have access to critical inputs like fuel and fertiliser. There is currently adequate supply, and the Government is working closely with the sector to identify and assess our options to support them to manage through the coming months.
